Pondering on Freedom...

It was another late night commute in the bus.

I boarded many transit buses n finally I got a bus directly to my destination.

I quickly boarded it, thankfully, I got a seat as well. Feeling happy, I sat and started reading a book as usual.

There happened to be a daily-wager from UP in the bus. I couldn't get the full context but the local people around him were trying to push him to a separate league. They were questioning his Benglur quotient and he seems to have an above average score to his experience. They were branding him intelligent.

These local people were trying to question him in Hindi (yes... irony...) n were very good at it. At the end, one of them said 'ಪರವಾಗಿಲ್ಲಪ್ಪ! ಇವನಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗೊತ್ತು. ಯಾವ್ ಯಾವ್ ಸ್ಟಾಪು ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಅಂತ ಗೊತ್ತು. ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಏನ್ ಸಿಗತ್ತೆ ಅಂತ ಗೊತ್ತು. ಆದ್ರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತ್ರ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. '.

This actually triggered various topics among them. It started from outsiders, and then they started cribbing about the lethargy of the locals and it reached the inflation and finally about the country politics... One man started cribbing that the country would've been better had it still been under the British till today... All these wicked, corrupt politicians are selling this glorious country for selfish motives. Bleh bleh bleh...

I, as always was silent reading the book but the disturbance made me close it. I alighted at my stop and started contemplating on the thoughts they were discussing.

One should notice that for him to express that 'this country would've been better had it still been in British rule' the right to express the same is obtained by the freedom what our forefathers fought for. Had they remained silent, this guy wouldn't have got an opportunity to even say those words. He would've been in jail had he said anything against the government.

Our generation doesn't know the value of actual freedom as it was known for those who really fought during freedom struggle. You'll know the value only when you lose it.

Also, if you're so concerned about the country, you would've elected the right candidates (if only... well, that's another story...) and not crib about after voting out the wrong candidate term after term. Yeah! I'm talking of Utopia.

Before this post turns preachy, I just want you to ponder over the above questions and  think about the real value of freedom.

This evening when I tried to help...

Am I waiting for some weird, different experiences to blog out? Not sure. Came across this one in the evening and am blogging out.

Just got down in Shivajinagar from 330C. Was waiting for Big 10, G9. 5 minutes passed to find no signs of it.

There were a series of buses coming from Meenakshi Coil street and I got myself into looking for buses heading Yelahanka while an elderly gentleman, in his mid 40s tried to cross the road, couldn't at that moment coz of traffic.

In the meantime, he saw me and a smile flashed on his face. I returned it back. He probably was waiting for that I guess. Started talking to me. Conversation goes like this.

Him: Bad day. You know how to go to Jayamahal?
Me: Yeah. You get a bus here at the terminus. Go there. you'll get lotsa buses.
H: Oh Thanks. Is bus the only way? Can I get an auto as well?
M: Yeah! Many go there. fetch one right here. There is one auto passing by. (He just flew giving us no chance to enquire).
H: So good of you. I've walked from Ulsoor to Shivajinagar and I'm very tired. I'll wait for some time to get an auto, lest I shall board a bus.
M: You have one auto here. Wait, lemme ask him. (To the auto driver). ಜಯಮಹಲ್ ಬರ್ತೀಯೇನಪ್ಪ?
Auto driver: ಜಯನಗರ ನ?
M: ಜಯನಗರ ಅಲ್ಲಪ್ಪ. ಜಯಮಹಲ್ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ಲು. ವಸಂತನಗರ ಸಿಗ್ನಲ್ ದಾಟಿ ಅಂಡರ್ ಬ್ರಿಡ್ಜು ದಾಟಿ. ಹೋಟೆಲ್ಲು. ಗೊತ್ತಾಯ್ತಾ?
A: ಸರಿ ಬನ್ನಿ.
M: (To him) I've told him the route. You can go with him.
H: Why don't you come along. Please join me.
M: No please. I'll go by bus. I've lot many waiting here. You carry on.
H: It would help me find the route quicker If you come along. Please don't hesitate. Get in. Get in. Get in...
M: Okay.
A: ಸಾರ್! ಐವತ್ತ್ ರುಪಾಯಿ ಆಗತ್ತೆ.
M: (Scratching head) He's saying it costs 50 bucks.
H: Come on. Ask him to put meter. Why is he charging extra?
A: ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯೂ ಟರ್ನ್ ಮಾಡಕ್ಕಾಗಲ್ಲ. ಸುಮಾರ್ ದೂರ ಹೋಗಿ ಯೂ ಟರ್ನ್ ಮಾಡ್ಬೇಕು. ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಆಗತ್ತೆ.
M: ಗುರೂ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಟೈಮ್ ೭ ಗಂಟೆ. ಆಗ್ಲೇ ಹಿಂಗಾ?
A: ನಮಗೂ ವರ್ಕ್ ಔಟ್ ಆಗ್ಬೇಕಲ್ಲಾ ಸಾರ್? ೫೦ ರುಪಾಯಿ ಕೊಡಿ. ಇಲ್ಲಾ ಇಳ್ಕೊಲ್ಲಿ.

I conveyed the same to him, to which he kinda denied. Later after some talk agreed. I asked him to go by bus which is more economical but he resisted. He was late for an appointment by 2 hours and he can't make them wait more is what he said.

H: I've walked from Ulsoor to here. Can't walk anymore. Also, I'm not sure of getting any seat in the buses. I'll go by this but ask him to leave me right at the footsteps of the hotel.
M: ನೋಡ್ರಿ... ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ಬಾಗಲ್ ತನಕ ಬಿಡ್ಬೇಕಂತೆ. ಐವತ್ತ್ ರುಪಾಯಿ ಕೊಡ್ತಾರಂತೆ. (I was like, why the hell did I get involve in this?)
A: ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ಗೇಟ್ ತನಕ ಬಿಡ್ತೀವಿ. ಅಷ್ಟೇ.
M: He says He'll leave you till the gate. Is that okay?
H: If he talks this way, I can also talk the same. What have they thought of himself? I won't give him money if he doesn't take me to the hotel. (He also conveyed the same in Hindi, thinking that the driver understands Hindi)

The driver continued driving.

Meanwhile, we spoke about him taking an auto, a taxi from Ulsoor to Jayamahal which he explains like nobody was willing to ply in that area. I asked for autos, buses, taxis Meru, Citycabs et al to find none willing to come there. One company says that it'll take 2 hours to reach Ulsoor.

All the way, he was cursing n curbing about his situation. He says he met another person at Ulsoor who explained him the scenario (dunno how true) that nobody will come to pick you up and the best way left to you is to walk your way. That person gave him company till Shivajinagar and had gone elsewhere.

Now, this person is from Mumbai, visited Bengaluru for a conference in ITC Windsor Hotel, but stayed in Jayamahal. He had another appointment with Sobha developers at Ulsoor when all this begun.

I asked him. didn't the Sobha guys arrange for transport? He said, they didn't and I didn't ask for one. There was a mean smile on his face.

All the while, there were clashes happening between the auto driver and this person. The former used to curse in Kannada while the latter used to ask me to translate it (which I didnt) and also was swearing at him in English which he probably didn't understand.

He continued to explain things in Mumbai. About Meter Jam, people trying to man-handle rickshaw drivers and all. This went on for a few minutes and He also explained that things are the same in metros.

We spoke about lots of issues in the country. Thinking of no solutions but just to discuss problems. He also discussed about Belagavi issue and supported Karnataka in this regard. He had hatred towards the politicians starting this riot.

At Vasanthnagar junction, the auto driver asked.

A: ಏಯ್ ಐವಾನ್! ಎಲ್ಲ್ ಇಳ್ಕೊತೀಯೋ?
M: ಇನ್ನೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗಪ್ಪ. ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಕಾನ್ಸತ್ತಲ್ಲ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ.
A: ಅವ್ರಿಗೆ ಕೇಳಿ ಸಾರ್. ರೋಡ್ ದಾಟ್ತಾರೋ? ಅಥವಾ? ಯೂ ಟರ್ನ್ ಮಾಡ್ಕೊಂಡ್ ಬರಬೇಕೋ?

He asked him to take him inside the hotel for which the driver cribbed and drove ahead.

H: I don't know one thing. These people want to increase fares according to petrol hikes. We people pay it. But still they crib? I dunno the reason. They always crib.

M: Thats human tendancy. Can't help it.

By the time, we were at the gate of Jayamahal hotel. I got down bidding him goodbye and walking away. He thanked me. and asked the driver to get inside.

A: ಅದೆಲ್ಲ ಆಗಲ್ಲ. ಗೇಟ್ ಹತ್ರ ಬಿಡ್ತೀವಿ ಅಂದಿದ್ದ್ವಿ. ಗೇಟ್ ಹತ್ರ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀವಿ. ಒಳಗೆಲ್ಲ ಬರಲ್ಲ.
H: Now, again whats his problem? Boss... If you do nakhra, we also have to take the same route. I won't give you a penny.
A: ಏನ್ ಸಾರ್ ಇವ್ರು ಹೇಳೋದು? ಹಿಂಗೆಲ್ಲ ಆಡ್ತಾರೆ?

I was in between, concoling both of them. After 10 minutes of consoling, the driver agreed to get to the hotel entrance.

I heaved a huge sigh of relief. I just wanted to get outa this mess. I bid him final goodbye for which he formally said "Meet you some time" and bid adieu.

For the help I lended, I walked from Jayamahal hotel to Jayamahal bus stop.

All for the airport.

It might be old news for you all. Still, I have to tell about it.

The Airport Road (to Devanahalli, originating from High Grounds) is again getting widened. Right from the Hebbal flyover, till the airport entrance. The last plan I heard was an eight-lane road below with three lane service roads on either side. On top of it we have a six lane express highway from Hebbal flyover to Airport entrance. There are plans of metro coming on one side of the road. Which side of the road has to be decided yet.

Well, this is the plan. All is good for the globalization enthusiasts. Wide roads attract the investors and gives an impression of a better infrastructure. Smooth traffic flow blah blah blah.

FYI, road widening for the airport had been done just five years ago. Now, again based on the complaints of minor VIPs, the central government plans to widen the road for their pleasure.

Lets analyse the situation. Here are some points that come to my mind.

1. Whats the traffic to the airport everyday on an average?

2. How many vehicles commute on that road?

3. Is widening required at this stage? Is the traffic that worse?

4. How many people/enterprises lose their land for widening?

5. Whats the compensation given to them? Whats the market value?

6. What is the ratio between them?

If you answer these questions, you'll easily find the need for this road widening is not that important. In case if they insist in doing so, they should provide the real compensation (unlike what they did in 2005) or provide land for the current market price somewhere else (Which I hardly see getting done).

They construct a dedicated 6 lane express highway for free movement of these VIPs in and outa the city. Now, whats the ratio of people taking the express highway paying the costly toll? You can take examples from the NICE road and the Hosur road flyover projects. Common man wishes the other way.

Roads in other parts of Karnataka are getting worse. Some examples include The road to Nagarahole, the roads that lead us to the western ghats (take any road, its getting worse n worse day by day) Why can't they improve such roads than investing 700 crores on an express highway to the airport? Again whats the ratio of people travelling to Airport to people travelling in the afore mentioned roads to rural parts of Karnataka? You just can't compare.

More balding of Bengalooru takes place (of the leftover greenery), more people will get homeless/jobless.

Its not that, I blog it out and they look into it. I just have pointed out my viewpoint which does no good to the situation. It simply doesnt change the scenario. The Govt takes it in the left ear n leaves it out on the right.

Stray Dogs @ Bengalooru International Airport.

Well, was just watching TV while having my lunch today to stumble with this news on News 9.

It says -

Dogs are prevalent at the Bengalooru International Airport these days. Its below International standards to have stray dogs in an International Airports. Nobody is taking any action against this issue....

Well, I'm kinda inert on this issue. Lemme post my opinion later. First I'll write on what would be the opinion of people from different fields.

1. Corporates: Aah! There you have. Another infrastructure problem to the list. I dunno what this government is doing? No water, no electricity, traffic jams, on top of that this issue. To hell with this government.

2. PETA abiders: Whatever be the case, the dogs shouldn't be harmed in the process of evacuating them outa Airport. Dogs are also living beings just like us humans. We shouldn't ill-treat them.

3. Opposition party leaders: This is a serious issue and is a shame to the city. The government should solve the issue within 2 days lest the CM shall give his resignation.

4. Government: We shall take immediate action towards this issue and see through that this will not be an issue in future.

5. Corporation workers: ಈ ದರಿದ್ರ ನಾಯಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೇರೆ ಜಾಗ ಸಿಗ್ಲಿಲ್ವಾ? ನಮ್ಗಿನ್ನೊಂದ್ ಕೆಲಸ ತಲೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿತ್ತು. ಜಾಡ್ಸ್ ಒದೀರ್ಲಾ ಈ ಹಲ್ಕಟ್ ನನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ. ಅದಿನ್ನೆಷ್ಟ ಬೈಸ್ಕೊಬೇಕೋ? ಅದಿನ್ನೆಷ್ಟ ನಾಯ್ಗಳ ಹತ್ರ ಕಚ್ಚಿಸ್ಕೊಬೇಕೋ?
(Didnt these bastard dogs get any other place? Another idiotic task to us. To hell with these dogs and the supervisors.)

6. Footloosers: Is that an issue? Whats the problem if you have dogs in an airport? If we humans are allowed inside the airport, why not the dogs? Are they creating any problem?

7. Dogs: ತಗಳಪ್ಪ! ಈ ಏರ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಆಗೊಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಕಾದ್ದ ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಇರ್ಲಿಲ್ವ? ಆಗ ಯಾವನೂ ಮಾತಾಡೋನೆ ಇರ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ? ಈಗ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಏರ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂತ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಓಡಾಡ್ಬಾರ್ದಂತ? ಈದ್ ಯಾವ್ ಊರ್ ನ್ಯಾಯನಪ್ಪಾ? ಈ ಏರ್ಪೋರ್ಟ್ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆನೇ ನಾವ್ ಇಲ್ಲಿರ್ಲಿಲ್ವ?
(Take that! Didnt we lavishly roam around here and did whatever we liked here before? Now that the airport has come, Why shouldn't we roam around now? We're seniors when compared to this airport. Where on earth is Justice?)

What I say is that, such kinda news is broadcasted only when you are outa stock. Didn't you get any better news to telecast? If anybody finds it a nuisance to see dogs at BIA, they'll complain the authorities and it will be handled. Is it that big an issue? This is another reason why I hate media these days. Focusing on petty issues like this.

FYKI, I had been to the airport this July 1st, to see through my Uncle to US, I had never seen a dog anywhere in the airport. According to me, Only thing to worry about might be if they try biting us. When we humans are at majority in the airport, I don't think dogs would dare do that.

Throughout the telecast, no dog has been seen terrific. They are just there. Just like dignified gentleman, sitting near the corridor, walking near the parking lot. Never has any dog barked at any mortal. So, one can't call it a mess.

So, media, stop concentrating on such issues and look over more serious issues.

Big 10, Akka n Me

This saturday, myself and Akka were returning from the bank in Sahakarnagar. When we came to byats, we saw a BIG 10 bus. What followed will be said later but,

For non-Bangaloreans, (also, for those Bangaloreans who least travel in the bus, Hehe!) BIG 10 buses are BMTC buses which drop you off at a certain popular location within the city to the suburbs. Or as BTIS says,

Big10 services, connect the Central Business District with different parts of the city

These locations within the central where most buses wouldn't stop. Ex: BRV grounds to Yelahanka Puttenahalli. One might get confused where is this BRV grounds? Its on the Cubbon Road (parallel to MG Road), check it out.

Enough off the topic, but before diggin more into the post, just have a look at the BIG 10 logo.

Akka: ಏನೋ ಹೇಳ್ತೀಯಾ? ಅದ್ ಇರೋದು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ. ಕಣ್ ಬಿಟ್ಟ್ ಸರಿಯಾಗ್ ನೋಡು.
Me: ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ ಯಾವ್ angle ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣ್ಸತ್ತೆ ನಿಂಗೆ? ಡೈರೆಕ್ಟ್ ಆಗಿ ನೋಡು. B I G ಅಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷಲ್ಲೇ ಬರ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ...

Akka: ಹೌದಲ್ಲೋ! Direct ಆಗೇ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದ ಹಾಗ್ ಕಾಣಿಸ್ತ ಇದೆ.
Me: ನೀನ್ ಹೇಳೋದು ಕರೆಕ್ಟು. ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲೂ ಇದೆ. ನಾನ್ ಇದೆ ಮೊದ್ಲು ನೋಡ್ತಾ ಇರೋದು ಈ ಥರ. ನಿಜವಾಗಲು ಈ ಲೋಗೋ ಮಾಡಿದವನಿಗೆ ಅವಾರ್ಡ್ ಕೊಡ್ಬೇಕು.

Now, lemme explain to the non-Kannada readers as to what went on in that conversation. She was seeing that logo in Kannada font and wasn't aware of the english font in it, while I was seeing the English logo and couldn't recognize the Kannada hidden in it (Some of you might swear me for this... Hehe). But we came to know about this mutually when we disclosed it.

Those who know both Kannada and English fonts, check it out. It is a beautiful logo created by BMTC (the logo creator has to be awarded to come up with such a wonderful logo).

After this incident, i realised as to why there were circles on top of the B and I characters of English font. Those were to make it also readable in Kannada.

I thank Akka in sharin the info to me in this respect, she would thank for what I shared... Nullifies... =)

Paraq! Bahuparaq!!

Its not uncommon for a person staying just beside NH-7 or what they call 'Bangalore-Bellary Road' or the newly named Airport Road of Bangalore to see the paraqs of the VIPs visiting the city. I stay, say 30 feet beside the infamous NH-7 to witness at least one paraq per day.

Yes! I'm talking about the VIP movement on the Airport Road in Bangalore to and from the terminal. Once any VIP (right from The President of India to Chief Minister of Karnataka, sometimes even some foreign VIP like the queen of some country) comes to the city, the path they take, will be abandoned from other vehicles for their free movement. Its like their time is precious and they can't afford to spend time in traffic jams. They'll have a freeway where they can zip away in no time.

Is time precious only for them? Time is time for all of us.Wasting it is a crime for anyone. Do you think we struggling in traffic jams and them flying in freeways is fair? Don't you feel like even they should suffer as we do? How can they reserve public roads for their purposes?

If they think they get bogged down by the traffic, let them take steps to lessen jams rather allotting a few dozen traffic police personnel for their free movement.

Pissing to glory.........

At last! I'm blogging this today.

Yes! Its about public nuisance. People pissing all around and making the city dirty.

Not only city, sometimes, even villages.




























If you see the above pic, you'd recognize the place. Yes! Its the Majestic bus stand compound. You can see a villager, pissing on the wall. (At least drainage would be a bit bearable. A daily commuter sees many such examples a day.

If he just crosses the compound, he would get a toilet to pass his urine. He is lazy enough to walk or may be he couldn't tolerate it anymore. In any case, he shouldn't have done that.

Okay! Forget this, if you'd been to the BMTC bus stand in Majestic (Subhashnagar), you'd find small streams of urine here and there. Previously, say 10 years ago, you could find them only during nights, not now. They piss in open space in daylight! Thanks for the people from Bihar n Orissa (construction workers). Forgot to take a pic there. Will post it soon.

P2 : [Enthusiastically] Yeah! Shall we meet at your place??? Ahem?? [Hahaha!! You guessed it right!]

Well, you can make fun of this. But this is a serious issue. Pissing beneath a tree or a grass would get un-noticed which is the norm in the villages but how can one tolerate it in cities? It stinks if just four of them piss in the same spot.

For the location enthusiasts, this pic was taken beside the Renaissance Apartments, Byatarayanapura.

Did you have a look at their attire? one fully dressed tiptop! Doesnt hesitate to piss in the open air.

If you ask me what should one do if he has to attend nature's call urgently? I say, hold it to the maximum extent possible(bearable) and keep searching for a lavatory. If you're right in the city, try Nirmala Shauchalaya, courtesy Infosys. Do not use places like a building compound... For the city's sake.

If it is unbearable, again, try to find a Nirmala Shauchalaya or Sulabh shauchalaya or head towards a hotel or a mall or a theatre(if you're interested in watching a movie) whatever is available. Try holding it to the last possible extent.

Need inspiration in holding? Just think of ladies pissing in public? Do they? How do they control? Think......

There are some situations wherein one doesnt have a rest room during his work. What should he do? Here is one such pic. Check it out. This was captured at the Metro Construction going on the MG Road, Brigade Road junction. He pisses right at the circle. Thanks for the fence. Just imagine that fence is not existing. How funny would that be? This is the state of the Metro construction in Bangalore.

For his kind information, he has a shauchalaya near Mayo Hall. Wont his supervisor permit him for five minutes to perform this task? Or again, is he too lazy to go there? Dont tell me that he doesnt know about the lavatory over there.

There is an empty site just in front of our house and we are fed up of scolding numerous people (day/night) for pissing. Some shit during night which gets un-noticed by us sometimes. When will they learn?

BMTC had never been so pathetic...

Thanks to Mr. Mannina Maga, his son Mannina Mommaga and all their allies. Today was a troublesome day to many of the Bangaloreans who were commuting via BMTC.

Traffic was totally hit in the northern parts of Bangalore, public commuting totally hit (need not mention)...

Cause being the samavesha held by the JDS (Dunno for what sake was it held) People were dumped in buses and were heading to Palace Grounds. They had rented more than half of the buses of BMTC for the so called communion all heading to Palace Grounds. Why the heck did BMTC grant so many buses? Didnt it foresee the problems that would occur?

What big decision was taken there? To roll down the current state government?? eh? I saw an article in Vijaya Karnataka today where Mr. DG has given an open statement saying "I've never seen a pathetic government than this!" What was your government at 1996? What was your government at the centre?

I'm not supporting the present government at the state. It might be pathetic which includes puppets like Mr. BSY and master of puppets like Mr. JR. What right does Mr. DG has to comment on the present government? I see none.

People who used to return home by 1 returned by 6. This was common. You could have seen people who would fit in a minimum of 6 buses in every bus stand while Mr. DG was busy sleepin at his communion.

One of my uncle had come from Kota and he couldn't return coz he didnt get any bus. I could have dropped him which he clearly denied, but what about the commoners?

We waited in the bus stand for almost two hours to find handful of buses jam packed. What happened in the samavesha? I should wait till tomorrow morning to get the news coz I hardly watch TV.

Many such communion have taken place but the commuting was never being hit so bad. Some of the instances being 'Benny Hinn coming to Jakkur Aerodrome to conduct his stupid evangelical drama for four continuous days', 'Sometimes when Mrs. Sonia Gandhi comes to deliver a speech'

Poor thing was that those buses which hadnt been taken by them took lengthy routes to avoid Palace Grounds and were fumbling to find the destination in the traffic jam all over the city. Traffic Police inside the city must have gone out of their minds.

Hope to not see such a thing in the future.

leavingbangalore.com - a review.

People are getting crazy to get ideas. They dont mind getting this low for ads. One idiot, started a stupid ad as I had mentioned in leavebangalore.com's review, these people from real estate seem to get an advantage over it.They mimick the same ad, give more publicity by having ad boards along the streets have a pic of a woman showing her back to the audience with the caption, "I am leaving Bangalore" with a footline "www.leavingbangalore.com" for more info.

Stupidity @ its crest.

My suspicion is that these ads are being arranged by people who party hard and those who are suffering, facing the 11:30 pm ban. No surprize if they come up with another website leftbangalore.com!! Maniacs. Let them put a fullstop to all these.

If you go to these sites (leave or leaving bangalore), you'll find many reasons why they hate Bangalore. On the contrary, you can also see many mentioning why they love Bangalore. Some dont like the people here, some don't like their language (what crap?, its like you coming to my home and disliking me being in my home...), some blame the traffic, some blame the condition of the roads, the infrastructure, auto drivers, taxi drivers, politicians... who else and what not? everything you find here, someone has an objection on it.

You can also see many people asking those who want to leave to leave. Thats the best thing they can do. If they find a better place, why should they stop? All I ask is, can they repair the irreparable loss to the city where they'd been existing for quite a while? Due to their intrusion, how many trees have fell, how many people have lost their houses? How many have lost their lands? All because of the intrusion of the outsiders? You've got an argument? shoot! I'll take it.

All they do is just complain. No plans to come outa it and do some remedy to such things. I can give answers to all of their arguments for which this post would be too large. Let them fire in the comments, I'll take them.

They wont be satisfied with any improvements in the infrastructure. They're here just to crib. We should not care for such people and continue to do our work. They are insatiable in an unknown land and its not like they dont have these problems at all at their home. They've got more in fact.

Okay! Considering all the flaws... What can the city do to it? Its the politicians to be blamed and not the city. They dont have such an idea in their mind. All I can say is "People who want to leave, can leave. Nobody cares for them" they blame Bangalore for their leaving, its their cheap mindset. We simply cannot do anything about it and we hardly care.

Rest, who wanna stay here, please do respect the culture, the language, the people and go ahead... You'll always love this city.

Was headin towards Bangalore Central to meet one of my friend yesterday, had boarded a bus to Shivajinagar 252 i guess, coming from Peenya. Was standing... Turned on the radio. Dials were at 91.9 [after listening to Friday's Night Patrol, Geoffrey Thomas], some song was gettin played which i enjoyed after which an Ad had me dumbstruck.

It goes...

Person 1 : I am leaving Bangalore...
Person 2 : Enough! I'm leaving Bangalore.
Person 3 : Oof! Thak gayi hoo mai! Jaa rahi hoo! Mai Bangalore Chodke jaa rahi hoo yaar!!
Person 4 : Naan Hogtha iddini andre hogtha iddini! Bangalore bittu hogtha iddini naanu!
Person 5 : Thats it! I'm packing my bags and leaving Bangalore!
Chorus : We are LEAVING BANGALORE!

Another Chorus : Why is everyone leaving Bangalore?

Suddenly a female voice comes up [the same female who performs for these orange properties ad] and says "Do you want to leave Bangalore too? log on to leavebangalore.com and tell us why?"

I thought this is another ad coming after the 11:30 ban! You can see my take on that here. Decided that I'll go home and post a blog on this for sure. Once i was back home, I was busy with one of my cousin flyin to Germany, we had a get-together for that and couldnt much think of it. Was fast asleep by 10:30.

Today morning, i just thought of this and had logged on. Before that! I thought of checking whether we have any other blog for any of our other metros. I tried leavemumbai.com, leavedelhi.com, leavechennai.com. couldnt find any. I thought of having a look at the blog now.

That blog consists only two posts. first, which asks for the reasons behind people getting frustrated about Bangalore. Almost all of them are looking into this, due to which the second post doesnt gets its prominence. All the author wants to say is in the second post. Please do have a look into that. [ I dont want to list that post here! Go have a look yourself].

He actually has posted a video of Rick Astley which says the opposite of the domain name as well as the radio ad. this is a bit clever but many have fallen into the pit. Also those who support Bangalore, have not noticed the above fact and commented about others here. Right at this point of time, we have 195 comments for the first post and the second has only 5.

Only 5 have noticed excluding me. I'm the sixth one i guess. [ Not boasting hehe!]

Though many have commented about things how they feel are in Bangalore. They talk about everything. People being rude which i totally oppose, they bang the taxi drivers as well as the rickshaw drivers, the traffic, high cost of living, what not? Will post a seperate post on that after this one.

Ban 'em! Bang 'em!!

There is this newspaper called mid-day which is specially meant for page 3 lovers as I can see. We get a free issue everyday at the office. Dunno whether they are making profit outa this. As the paper says, it is a paper which is released by the afternoon unlike most of the dailies.

I hardly go through the paper, but an article made me go through it yesterday. [11-Aug-2008]. Please have a look at the link provided. Here is another blogpost [which also came as a review in today's edition of mid-day] which supports the article.

Lemme tell you whats it all about. Recently the Bangalore Police have raised a ban on all shops and establishments to shut down their business within 23:30 due to security constraints. All the music enthusiasts along with DJs are protesting this move and this article covers the protest.

One says 'Give us our Bangalore back!!!' another DJ says 'Get me my job back', yet another says'Give us our rights back!' while another female plays a guitar in the crowd asking them to join her. You can say 'Bengaluru bleeding' on almost all of their attires.

Also, the blog post says 'Life is a chief cause of death, should we ban life?'

Okay! thanks for those slogans, but do you think they are valid?

Bangalore is still the same [Barring the balding done by the influential people who are amongst this crowd], nothing has happened to its culture [Apart from the IT Intruders], There is no point in saying 'Give us our Bangalore back'. We had the 11 o' clock rule much before also.

For the poor DJ, Who has taken your job? You can perform well within 11:30 pm and be safe. I say the same thing to everyone.

Let me explain, but before, you PARTY ANIMAL, answer these questions.

1. Why do you want to lift the 11:30 pm ban?
2. Is that essential for you to dance everyday?? If yes, why can't you dance within 11 and go to sleep, so that you wont be late tomorrow to your work?
3. Why do you want to dance even after 11?
4. What provokes you to break the rules?

Be it whatever, I see only one reason you do such things is just to enjoy! Lemme explain you the problems with this.

1. You booze. Thats the major reason for all the criminal offense happening after 11. You misbehave once you are drunk.
2. Its a nuissance which disturbs the rest.
3. You drive after drinking which causes lots of accidents on the road (as well as off the road).
4. In case you make new friends at the party, you try to go one step ahead than what you usually do with strangers which leads to lots of complexities.
5. It becomes difficult for the police to handle you.
6. I find it so illegal. These rave parties etc.

That post on churmuri, all I have to say is to have a look at this video. Just check out this video and how they misuse the freedom given to them. And that crap about MGR's rule and people coming to Bangalore to enjoy! What crap? its just plain BULLSHIT. Didn't get any better point yeah? And yes, dont compare life with your stupid partying. Its simple stupidity. Life is much more than partying.

I was once shocked to see people like Girish Karnad, Raghu Dixit in the protest. I'm wondering how can they protest on such a mean topic.

Bomb blasts in Bangalore?

Well this might be an old news to you but, there are minor bomb blasts in the city today. Short n sweet, bombs exploded in 7-8 locations in the city of which some of them are Raja Ram Mohan Roy Circle, Richmond road, Adugodi, Madivala checkpost, sarjapura road, Nayandahalli junction, n what not?

Of this blasts, those who got profited were the telecom operators wherein there were lot many calls landing in the city asking about the incident and the condition of their dear ones.

Rumours are that these were due to SIMI (Student Islam..., Whatever, I dunno) along with the help of LeT (Lashkar e Toiba). Be it whoever, they claimed to have arrested a person regarding the blasts.

I just ask one thing, If you need a muslim country, why dont you go to one than converting this into one? You've got lot many, go to middle east! Creating lot of nuisance and problem to all the people around? Go get lost.

Note that this post is not pointing to all muslims but to those who create such isues. Or does this have some background with the two week riots in the city of a pigs' head thrown into the mosque?

Is Tit for Tat the only way? Why can't people be easygoers?

Even people create havoc in such situations. All try to leave home early which again causes lotsa traffic. Unnecessary. Why can't one be calm as another usual day?

I saw many jams happening on my way back home. Walked from Mahadevapura to Tin Factory . I was faster than any vehicle!

People were saying that Bangalore is a safer place to live in and by the intrusion of outsiders, I mean it! Outsiders. Non-Kannadigas, it is getting worse. Though it is still a safer place to live.

Please stop all such nuisance. Let this be the same city as before.

A monologue in the bus.

Had just got a seat near Tin factory. 7:40 pm, It was a bit crowded, less of light, couldn't open the book to read. Was just sitting idle.

Five minutes passed while a person behind me gets a call. Here goes the conversation. (Monologue for me, as I couldn't hear the other side.)

Note here that based his replies, i would frame my own questions from the other side that would have been probably asked.

Other person : Whats up dude?? how are you doin?

Person : Right now in a pathetic condition. In a third grade bus. Sweating like hell. What will a person get working in a big MNC get? ( Dunno why he told that way)

O : Why what happened?

P : Now what else will a 'kin Indian get?? (Tell me what to do with this Idiot)

O : Again, what happened? Whats wrong with you?

P : Dude, I'm &*cked up with this &*ckin job!

(This person is suffering from slangs like 'Dude, &*ck,...'. They think they are great if they use those words)

He continued the jargon of hating his job, cursing it to the fullest extent. I thought of posting the full conversation here but It would just lengthen the post and add no value to it.

Here is the gist. This person is one among those who not just hate their job but also their country. They just want everything on their side no matter what happens to the rest. He was curbing that he travels 70 kms everyday in bus and he is sick of that. He hates BMTC, Bangalore, Traffic, his job, India everything. People around were just staring at him. No one daring not daring to speak to him. He comes somewhere from Mayuri near Sanjaynagar and his office is somewhere near silkboard. Stupid guy, takes ring road while he can take a route inside the city to shorten it. Or if he is so bugged up, why shouldn't he shift?

The person on the other side should also be blamed. He should not have allowed him to speak like this. By his accent, I could make out that he is a malayali. I'm not blaming the whole of malayali gang with this but the outsiders are the major ones for the condition here in Bangalore. Just for their sake, rising population, we are sacrificing many things here and they don't care a damn for it. Once again, here I'm not blaming all of the outsiders but the majority of them.

The government has acquired land for widening of roads after Hebbal flyover towarsd BIA. Now, they have decided to acquire more land for Metro. What should the people there do?? where should they go? They cut down trees, imbalance the environment of Bangalore. Sparrows flew outside Bangalore for the mobile revolution here in the city. Bangalore is getting more and more barren. For Whose sake????

Well, I thought of blogging out about that person, but it is heading in a direction which i didn't intend. Will blog out the original content some other day. Cya.

Benglooranna ondonde kade mundaaystha iddare!!

Literally translates to "They are balding Bangalore gradually". ( Note : Balding is a term I take from Shruthi, from one of her post.)

Here are some of the pics which i took on this Saturday. I was about to meet my friends in Majestic and hence I took a bus to Majestic which went all over Cunningham Road to bypass the Guttahalli BDA junction. I just reached the High Grounds to see this pathetic view. I don't have the pics to show its previous beauty. I apologise.





If you just check the below photograph, you can observe that 'The Le Meredian' previously 'Holiday Inn' of Bangarappa, has not been touched. They cut down trees but do not touch private buildings. They may demolish the public buildings like the Bala Brui Guest house right opposite to the High grounds police station but not the so called posh Hotels like 'The Le Meridian'. I don't know one thing, Don't they have the basic understanding that they can re-build any building to any extent but the are impotent to grow trees of that mammoth shape?? Dont they have common sense?? Let them demolish the buildings and be eco-friendly. Nope! They won't do that.



You know why?? Its just because that the owners of these hotels would have dumped their money into the hands of these stupid politicians and those idiots would sanction any of their orders in a godly manner. Poor creatures.

I have one Idea, dunno how many agree to it. Let them retain the trees and demolish only the buildings. That would retain the beauty of Bangalore.

One more contractor giving a finishing to the Arch for his apartment. Doesn't he know that that part would be acquired for the expansion of the road or has he given ransom??

On the whole, they are giving a major blow to Bangalore. Major hit is to its Greenery. I cannot think of any other thing which can stop this other than government taking any action on this. Do you have any better idea?

Another evening in Bangalore!!

Dont be embarassed by the title!

I've not gone outside Bangalore to say the above statement. It was another lonely evening i spent interestingly. Just another one like this.

Had been to 'Geleya' yesterday with Raghu, Susheema n Karadi. I'm doin Masti Venkatesh Iyengar's 'Chikaveera Rajendra'. Thought of taking a break from it while Raghu called me up today for a meet up. As usual, I was ready n started by 10 minutes.

While reached bus stand, I got a message from him askin me to start 15 minutes late. As I was outa house, I replied that I would just roam around here and there till he comes. We agreed and I got a bus to Majestic.

Thought of gettin down at Guttahalli, calling Yogesh passing time till Raghu comes to Beagules. Called to his cell to find his dad answer the call askin me to call up landline. I said I'll call up but didnt as I got another call from Hemanth. By now I was at Mekhri, and the Kaveri Signal was all the way till the Gayatri Vihar entrance. I got down right there thinkin of walkin my way to Malleshwara.

Was speaking to Hemanth for 10 minutes while i had crawled 100 steps ahead of the Corporation Bank, Sadashivanagar when we ended the call agreein for a long call late at night. I cut the call to find an anonymous asking path towards Malleshwara 18th cross. I thought i got a company till 18th cross and changed my route for him.

He had come to Sadashivanagar for personal work and was heading back to his room at Dasarahalli, Peenya. On our way we spoke about each other regarding many things. He was basically from Beluru, Hassana. I was just queryin about things there and his qualification n stuff like that. We shared many of our thoughts on the city. I didnt find my way to 18th cross end so quickly. Thats what happens when you get a company. We walked around the semi-circle of Sankey Tank from Sadashivanagar to 18th Cross. I asked him more about Hassana and its near by places. According to him, even there, you find people from outside intruding. Pathetic!



We then reached the gate towards 18th Cross and bid goodbye! No phone number, no contact. It will be good only with such short encounters which makes you feel happy!

I now headed to Beagules, I took the photo of a herd of cattles you find at the 16th cross! I just find myself dumbstruck looking at them! Dunno why??!!

Came to beagules, where I always find something new or something strange (or both!!??). to my usual senses, I found a person sitting all alone and drooling! It was about 5:15 and he was drunk by that time to the fullest!





Dunno where these people live and what they do for their living! Have lots of pics of such men and will dedicate a post for them asap! Here I'm attaching the one whom I found at beagules. Pathetic guy!! Was in his own world and was not disturbing others. That was the best part! I just climbed 4 stairs above him and started waiting for Raghu n others watching some of them play Basketball in the ground!


Was watchin the matches played as always and waited for Raghu to come meanwhile, had called Raghu, Seena to come asap for which Raghu said that he is with PG and it would take 1/2 an hour for him to come! He suggested me to call Seena or Yogesh and ask them to accompany me till he comes! Which i had already done. Seena wasn't pickin up the phone and Yogi as his behaviour would take long to come to beagules from Guttahalli! (We call him Slomotion, the late lateef).

I continued watchin boys n girls busy playin basketball! I recollected that I was really bad at outdoor games and had never been to such grounds to play anything! also, in my childhood, the most popular game we used to play was Cricket, sometimes Kabaddi, Lagori, Jootaata, Kalla Police, Lock and Key, Chood Chand n stuff like that! These days such things are dissappearing quite drastically! Desi Games should be protected! Everyone is behind Globalization! They prefer playin Basketball, bowling, n other stuff!

It was 6 and there were no signs of anybody! I called some now and then to find a busy tone! 6:15, there arrived a short figure below the steps where I was sitting! Was wearing helmet, a sweater, looked similar to Daksha! Was astonished to see him come uninvited and with no clue! He looked at me! 75% of my mind confirmed me that it was Daksha, but the rest 25% was true! It was a similar figure! Here is a pic of him taken without him noticing it!


He saw me! Think even he thought that I was waiting for him! He might have mistaken me for someone he knows. He came closer, saw me and recognized that he doesn't know me and sat 5 feet away from me. Even he was waiting for somebody (Male for sure which I found out by his conversation over phone). He waited just like me calling his friends. I was happy that there are people just like me waiting for their late lateef friends who do not time themselves).

When all this happened, the lousy guy next to me was awake and was tryin to find something from his pockets. After a long search, he found a motbeedi (small beedi), lit it and was enjoyin smoking! Even the guy who sat next to me lit a cigarette and was busy smoking! I choked teice for the smoke, called up Raghu asking about his location to which he replied, he was still in Jayanagar and it would take still 15 more minutes for him to move from there! PG had a meet up with his cousin and that was delayin things. Meanwhile, Seena had called up and said that he woke up just then and he wouldn't be able to make it that day! So I asked Raghu to take his time but I would leave as it was 6:30 and he would come late! He agreed and I walked my way back to Guttahalli looking at two of my silent unknown companions for the evening that day!

You just experience such things without doing any significant thing but you feel something strange entering your mind after such incidents! It just depicts the simplicity one can find in LIFE. How beautiful would things be when things are simple right?? Think about it!

Nothin much after that! Just walked my way back to Guttahalli bus stand, took a bus without a board to find its a KSRTC bus and BMTC passes are not allowed. Got down at Kaveri signal, walked back towards Guttahalli bus stand, found another bus and headed my way back to home!
There was a satisfaction in my heart for the simple experience I had that day!

One more feather to add onto the Cap of BMTC!!

Look at this pic! Though it was taken from my mobile @ 7:30 late in the evening, I hope you know which place it is.

Yes! It is our BMTC, Majestic, Subhashnagara. I was amazed to see a screen probably an LCD screen( a glowing screen which you can see atop, I'll post a pic taken in daytime asap.) on the bridge connecting KSRTC and BMTC. Its a display showing ads, along with instructions to the commuters. BMTC has gone one step ahead! Such things would ease the passenger more.

Not only that! They've also installed small displays on possibly every platform in the bus stand. Now, you can watch songs even in BMTC bus stand(KSRTC had this much before, say10-15 years back)



Commuters can pass their time by watching these things instead of just waiting for the bus.

Hope they get more such ideas and make the customer more happy!
