Should one hate a professional for his personal life?

I guess we all have atleast seen one such scenario in our life. Let me explain you a general scenario.

He is a gem in his profession. Trekked all the pathways in his work and he is kinda walking encyclopedia to all when it comes to job. Any task given to him is completed elegantly in a best possible way. But when it comes to his personal life, he is simply disastrous. Reasons various.

Now, should one hate that person for his personal life or like/treat him normally for the genius in him?

This is a dilemma.

There is a huge list for this. All I can list is what I remember.

1. Dr. Rajkumar and Leelavathi issue. (the only scar on Dr. Raj)
2. Pt. Ravishankar and his affair with Ms. Jones in US
3. Elton John and his homosexual activities (I am not pro-Elton John, I don't like his music. This entry is just for the sake of it)
4. New Addition, Tiger Woods and his mistresses.

This list can go on n on as always. The reason for me to write this particular post is the 4th one on that list.

I need not touch upon the issue of Tiger Woods, most of you know it. Now that his wife is busy consulting her lawyer for a divorce, the issue has become stark naked in front of everyone.

Yes, Mr. TW had many mistresses. Thats his fault. Agreed. Thanks for the media and the internet to make it big. But isnt it harsh that this forced a golf Pro like him to take a long break from the game? Lets be neutral and think about this issue.

Some points that come to my mind are:

1. Don't we have enough people who're famous and have umpteen affairs?

2. Did his affairs affect directly/partially to his game?

3. Should this force all his endorsers to take a step back, stop endorsing?

Lets answer these questions one by one.

1. Don't we have enough people who're famous and have umpteen affairs?: We've many. Some are listed in the above list. To name a few more, we've  the cricket great, leg spinner,  Shane Warne, who was famous for two reasons. One for his spectacular spin bowling. No cricket fan forgets the golden ball or the ball of the century by him, which was wide but took the English batsmen (Gooch or Gatting, don't remember though) wicket. The other reason being his affairs. He was in the middle of one or the other affairs. Many bans were on him for participating in these affairs. He would have scalped 1000 or more test wickets if he were not to get involved in such affairs. We have more to add to the list. Take any hollywood/bollywood actors who are in one or the other affair anytime of the year.

2. Did his affairs affect directly/partially to his game?: Might be. This might have given a positive enthusiasm in playing. It might not be the case, that if he is not involved in such affairs, he couldn't play. This might have worked as a catalyst probably.

3. Should this force all his endorsers to take a step back, stop endorsing?: The endorsers have to think about it in a much serious way. Why did they endorse him? Was it because he was a nobel human or for he was a Golf Pro? If it was for the former, they've every right to take back. But most of them did this for the latter reason. I'm not saying that they need to continue the endorsement, but if they were really endorsing, they should've enquired about his social life much before they took the decision. News of these kinds will be prevalent in the small circle much before they become public. Who knows?? these endorsers would've signed the contract knowing it all, but for publicity sake. I consider this a bit unfair.

Then, what should one do in such a scenario?

1. People should stop making stories building upon those read in the newspaper. Almost all know about it and making up stories is just worsening things up for the victim. Some of those stories might be true but still, its harsh on the victim to spread those.

2. The victim should keep his cool, stay calm as much as possible. Time is the healing factor. Even after that, people do comment on this issue in his presence. All he can/should do is to ignore.

3. Media, stop adding fuel.

Its not that I'm a Tiger Woods fan and I'm writing this post. Yeah I do love watching him play golf. They say hes only second next to Jack Nicklaus. I can't comment on that coz I havent watched much of golf.

Its not that everybody are innocent. There are some criminals who gotta be punished. hat I feel in case of Mr. TW is that he should be given another chance.

Everybody has to be punished for their wrong deeds and I guess everybody will follow his karma. Nobody can stop it. I do support any legal action taken against him but I see something adverse goin on  and hence this post. Everybody should be given an opportunity to set things right.

To give you all an instance of the chance given, I'd like to give the example of Dr. Raj. Agreed that his affair with Leelavathi was unfair. But the good thing he/Parvathamma did was to let their children enter the film industry only after getting married. This has to be appreciated. Hopefully, I'll comeup with a blog post on Rajkumar on my Kannada blog.

It shouldn't be like 'Once a thief, always a thief', but unfortunately that the case in the real world. Lets hope things change. And for Tiger Woods, lets hope he comes back with flying colors.

When a celebrity/icon dies...

Aah! I simply can't stand the people faking themselves in front of media/public just to win some sympathy.

I'm writing this post based on the incident or rather drama of YSR tragedy as they call it and the media reaction as always since two days.

To report the incident in one paragraph,

Yesterday, by 10 or so, a helicopter carrying the CM of Andhra Pradesh deaded Chittoor went missing near NallaMalla forest region AP. Every department went in search of CM but in vain. The copter was mapped this morning by 10:30 or so and the leftovers/victims were identified of whom the CM of AP was one.
The State lost its CM.

This would be exactly what a news reader would have told say, 15 years ago. All news were supposed to be covered within 15 or at the max 30 minutes and they wouldn't have much time to elaborate stories as today. Who had time to sit in front of TV and watch elaborate newscast. Everybody had better work.

Thanks to current media. They have lots of time in the world (so do those people who watch them) as well as bandwidth. They have multiple channels reserved for News exclusive. Many like me are getting bored to watch the same news in all channels, same repeated news clippings, almost same report etc...

While I was having my lunch this afternoon, someone switched over to TV9 a Kannada news channel, to get only news about YSR. Nothing else. My mom called me a bit early for dinner tonight, I sat in front of TV to get the same news. Relatives, family friends and fans crying in front of YSR's house literally chestbeating themselves. Even the opposition party leaders crying like anything. Let alone people of Andhra, even here in Karnataka.

I'd like to tell one thing now. No matter how bad or cruel a person be, he becomes a good hearted once he dies. Atleast when he is a celebrity. There would be some fanfollowing around his deadbody, flowers getting thrown for no reason.

For instance, the same people who criticized YSR in the legislative assembly, cry for his demise. I don't think they are natural tears but artificial. Just to win over the people in front of the media. They say, he was benovalent, brought some very serious reforms in the government et al bullshit... (The same people had complained that YSR is planning to churchify Tirupati by sending missionaries to its base).

To add on to the empathy, he got killed in an accident. A copter crash. May be he wouldn't have gained sympathy in this amount if he happened to die in any other fashion. May be the opposition leaders wouldnt have been so generous in praising him.

Present media, as always show fake sentiment exhibited by such people to get more TRP for their show. They might not be more interested in the content than TRP. Media is grabbing attention more by showing them be it newscast or reality shows. I would reserve a post on reality shows which would be published soon. It has become the norm to exhibit fake sentiment (which was deliberately edited before).

Thinking with a calm mind, no person would act fanatically if a person he respects dies. Rather he would've felt bad for the loss and at max would have cried. People watch stupid movies where characters act lunatically for any loss of life and tend to act the same in real life.

Finally, I'm indifferent for the loss of YSR not that I'm happy or sad. It doesnt bother me coz I don't know about him much. I'm not degrading him by saying this. I have no opinion on his death. May be I feel a bit bad for the people for losing its leader. Nothing more than that. Neither am I writing this post being happy for his death nor sad. This is my view for media coverage on his death's occasion.

Some blogs blog about how famous he was, google was filled up with requests for more info about the incident...blah!... blah!!... blah!!! This is another hype. You can't comapre this incident with MJ's death on June 25th. It had got way more number of requests.

So, stop creating hype. Act sensibly in front of media. Maintain dignity.

Have your say.

On Shoe Throwing...

It all started with Muntadhar al-Zeidi throwing a shoe on George W. Bush Jr.

Journalists worldwide seem to have inspired by this. Prior to this, shoe throwing had just been the program in some public gatherings like orchestra and rarely in some political meetings, not in press conferences.

In India, shoe throwing has now become a trend to unfurl your heroism. (a fast, cheap stunt to become instant hero.) That too in the days of elections.

Chronologically, shoe throwing on VIPs in India since 2-3 months are as given below.

1. On P. Chidambaram for guarding the party's interest in holding Jagadish Tytler.

2. On L.K. Advani in a political campaign.

3. On Man Mohan Singh, addressing a public gathering.

4. Yesterday, on Karnataka's Chief Minister, Dr. B. S. Yediyurappa, again addressing a public gathering.

Have I missed out any? Please let me know.

Possible aftermaths of shoe-throwing:

1. Getting arrested first of all.

2. Letting him free. (Ignoring the issue)

3. May be treatment from the Police under the vigilance of the politician.

4. Getting released in a few hours and apologizing.

5. Nobody caring for the throwee or the thrower as if nothing has happened.

6. Rare cases where the politician gets furious and makes some serious injuries on the thrower, of course, not in public.

Lemme write out my points now.

All this shoe throwing business mean nothing. Just hype created and feeding the media with some stupid news. It might bring down the level of the throwee for a day or so, the next day, people forget it and work as if nothing has happened. So does the thrower becomes a hero for a day.

It may work other way too. People might have some sympathy on the throwee and might vote him out. The throwee might get some extra votes.

If this continues to be a serious issue with many more throwers, the coming government might form a law on shoe-throwers. Who knows? Quite possible. Or just like a bomb squad, they might form a shoe-throwing squad to avoid the politician from getting hit.

All in all, to say it again, this doesnt change the situation. The politician would just forget the issue just like a bird shitting on his head. Doesnt change the situation of the country. Just some food for the media.

I suggest them one thing. Instead of throwing a shoe, throw a stone. So that it might hurt them a bit more when compared to shoe.

Post in your comments.

Slumdogs of 'Slumdog Millionaire' are millionaires...

You might feel bad to see a series of critic posts on this blog these days. I don't know. I had the least interest in writing this post. Though I'm not eligible in writing a critic on this coz I haven't seen the movie (I'll keep the references to it to the minimum), please do read. When I say slumdogs in the title of this post, I just mean it to say 'members' and not to degrade them.

Whats irritating me these days is media and the hype it creates around silly issues. I open the newspaper to see news of only the Oscars. Do they do it every year?

Well let me tell you the story I understood from those I met whoever saw the movie.

This person, the hero is brought up in Dharavi Slum of Mumbai. He's got a childhood lover, who departs from the slum or whatever and he starts his search for her allover. This goes on and on and on... One day, he is selected for a reality show, something like 'Who wants to be a Millionaire?' and for all the questions asked over there, he'll have the answer which is obtained from some experience when he was in search for her love. Finally he becomes a millionaire, and also finds his lover I guess...

This is what I heard.

Pretty vague, plane. Sounds like some stupid Hindi movie. The movie is being directed by some Hollywood director and thats the only way it found an entry into the Oscars and other international awards.

They say that India is being wrongly picturised in the film. We had petitions signing that it should not enter the Oscars, though it failed. It won 8 Oscars. Whats so much in celebrating for the whole country if a film directed by a foreigner, depicting the country in a wrong manner wins a global award? Should we actually celebrate or criticize? I see the people of Dharavi Slums celebrating the success of the movie but their state of living in slums hasn't been changed yet. Why are they celebrating? As usual, we have these politicians commenting that 'Slumdog Millionaire' and AR Rehman has made India proud of winning an Oscar. I say CRAP. I feel shamed to hear them say that.

I might offend AR Rehman's fans when I say this but I have to say. I dont listen to much of ARR, in fact I dont listen to him at all. May be some of the blog readers (If he is reading this post, he would surely do) would expect a post from me asking why I dont actually like his music. I would answer it in a few sentences. I dont listen to his music just because, I see a sense of surrenderness in it. Its like saying, you are the one for me, without you, I don't have anything. That kinda music. That suits to certain songs but not all. This is what I felt. Do not get offended.

To add more, there are quite a few instances, wherein say i meet a person. he/she tries to get close and we share things among us. When it comes to music, I see most of them are ARR fans, and they are shocked when I say, I don't listen to him. They say 'What music do you listen to if you don't listen to ARR?' Huh! This certainly irritates me. Don't impose your taste on me. I have my own likings. There are many instances like this. Don't come to a conclusion that I don't like him coz of this reason. I just thought of sharing this.

I'm not saying that he doesnt deserve an Oscar. I'm no one to say that. I'm indifferent in that case. I haven't listned to the songs of the movie. I dont bother whether he gets it or not, but I just can't stand the hype what the media has created. He might deserve. I don't know. I'm against the media when they praise a lot. Anybody for that matter.

As a person I feel he is simple and I like that simplicity. I don't see him roaring on stage when getting an award.

On the other hand, I was watching 'The Taxi Driver', just watch it, I was shocked to hear that it didnt win an Oscar. A good movie by Martin Scorsese directing Robert De Niro. Do watch it. I feel it has a better story that Slumdog Millionaire. Its about a common man who turns a taxi driver just because he cannot sleep. He feels that the city (New York) is filled with filth and hopes that 'Someday a real rain will come and wash this scum off the streets.'

Check out the dialogues. Its really interesting. Some are really gem. I suggest you watch the movie. Watch the sequence when Travis Bickle says 'You talkin to me?' hehehe! Here is one of the gem I found.

Here is a man who would not take it anymore.
A man who stood up against the scum...
the cunts, the dogs, the filth, the shit.

More of such kinda movies are always welcomed. I don't like comparing things, but here, I say SDM doesnt come near to the Taxi Driver.

All I mean with the title is that the team members of Slumdog Millionaire are rich now. Good for them but what I intend to say is that publicity in this scale was not expected. I'm not curbing for them.

I just read the news that Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and the likes may enter Bollywood. WHY?????? To make some crap movies? Let them be what they are. Let them not enter Bollywood which is filled with crap(Exceptions are always there). The person who is pulling them in is some Feroz Nadiadwala. I see these Nadiadwala films and they are always Muslim oriented. My friend dragged me to one of his movies which I had denied to watch, the movie was named 'Welcome'. I nearly fainted when I saw a song where all of them were Hindus (on and off the screen), dancing for a song 'Inshaa Allah!!' SHAAAAA! Don't you think this Nadiadwala is a crap guy?

Hoping the De Niros and the Pacinos do not enter Bollywood.

BMTC had never been so pathetic...

Thanks to Mr. Mannina Maga, his son Mannina Mommaga and all their allies. Today was a troublesome day to many of the Bangaloreans who were commuting via BMTC.

Traffic was totally hit in the northern parts of Bangalore, public commuting totally hit (need not mention)...

Cause being the samavesha held by the JDS (Dunno for what sake was it held) People were dumped in buses and were heading to Palace Grounds. They had rented more than half of the buses of BMTC for the so called communion all heading to Palace Grounds. Why the heck did BMTC grant so many buses? Didnt it foresee the problems that would occur?

What big decision was taken there? To roll down the current state government?? eh? I saw an article in Vijaya Karnataka today where Mr. DG has given an open statement saying "I've never seen a pathetic government than this!" What was your government at 1996? What was your government at the centre?

I'm not supporting the present government at the state. It might be pathetic which includes puppets like Mr. BSY and master of puppets like Mr. JR. What right does Mr. DG has to comment on the present government? I see none.

People who used to return home by 1 returned by 6. This was common. You could have seen people who would fit in a minimum of 6 buses in every bus stand while Mr. DG was busy sleepin at his communion.

One of my uncle had come from Kota and he couldn't return coz he didnt get any bus. I could have dropped him which he clearly denied, but what about the commoners?

We waited in the bus stand for almost two hours to find handful of buses jam packed. What happened in the samavesha? I should wait till tomorrow morning to get the news coz I hardly watch TV.

Many such communion have taken place but the commuting was never being hit so bad. Some of the instances being 'Benny Hinn coming to Jakkur Aerodrome to conduct his stupid evangelical drama for four continuous days', 'Sometimes when Mrs. Sonia Gandhi comes to deliver a speech'

Poor thing was that those buses which hadnt been taken by them took lengthy routes to avoid Palace Grounds and were fumbling to find the destination in the traffic jam all over the city. Traffic Police inside the city must have gone out of their minds.

Hope to not see such a thing in the future.

Tragedy of the day

What to say about this?

There is a saying in Kannada. 'ಇಮಾಂಸಾಬಿಗೂ ಗೋಕುಲಾಷ್ಟಮಿಗೂ ಏನ್ ಸಂಬಂಧ?'
which literally translates into 'Whats the relation between imaamsaabhi and gokulaashtami?'

People today are bloggin, talking(in fact doing all sorts of things) about Barack Obama winning the elections in the US. I'm not pro Obama or against him. Why should people in India talk so much about him winning elections over there?

Some might ask the question that He will decide the relationship between India and US. About the IT deal which ends by March 2009. Some predict that he might close all the doors for IT in India from the US.

SO WHAT???

Arent we an Independant nation? Why should we care so much about policies made by some foreign leader. Arent we self sufficient? We should look out for opportunities within and not outside.

If you've gotta look at problems. there are hell lota them right here in this country. Please look into this. To mention some, there is the alltime debt of the country. Two months old financial crisis, never ending conversion and evangelism by the cemetic religions and what not?

Another saying from Kannada 'ನಮ್ಮದೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಸಿ ಹೊದ್ದ್ಕೊಳ್ಳೋವಷ್ಟಿರೋವಾಗ ಬೇರೆಯವರ ಗೋಜು ನಮಗ್ಯಾಕೆ?' translates to 'When we have so much to think of ourselves, why should one think of the rest?'

Please have your say here to what I say. Lemme reply to your comments.

Its Britney(,) Bitch!!??

Well, myself, Sri, Rup and Bik were sittin in the outdoor cafeteria havin a coffee break. It was a table for 6. Aru and Sun were missing. Might be they were with their SET batch. Lemme explain you how we sat.

It was two tables joined together which made it a table for six. Along the length of it, we can place two seats on either side, which accommodated four seats. One along the breadth of the table. That added two seats which totally made it six.

Me and Rup were sitting on either side of the length. So we had a seat in front of us empty. Imagine this. Sri was sittin to my left and Bik was sittin to the left of Rup. This is not how we sit most of the time but I dunno the reason behind this.

5 minutes passed while a familiar figure was chatting in the table in front of us. She was visible only to me and Sri and we kept starin as to why she was here. She saw us staring and just after another minute, she came to our table.

Yeah! You guessed it right! It was Britney Spears. Wondering what she was doing here. Whom was she talking?? I dunno. I seriously don't know.

Here goes the conversation between us. I wonder why the rest in our table were dumb. They were hardly talking anything.

Britney : Hey!

Sandesh : Sandesh. (Extending my hand).

We shook hands.

B : Wazzup?? Whats goin on the hour?

S : Nothing. Was just wondering what you were doin here?

Meanwhile I just noticed that she had dressed decent enough to be in India. Was confused enough.

B : Just checkin out things in India. Wanna be frenzz ??

S : Why not? I dont mind being frenz with anyone!

B : Cool!! I love makin new friends.

We just chatted for another 10 minutes. I can't recollect the whole of conversation now. I still dunno why the rest were mum(Atleast why Bik was so silent??). We got up to continue with our work. Even she came to wash her hands. After that, I just thought of clickin a photo with her. While she was crazy for that. She posed. I handed my cell to one of my collegue to take the pic.

And...

and...

and...

As expected, I woke up!!! I was like "WHAT THE HECK IS GOIN ON????". Just checked the time. It was 2:30 AM. Good! They say that dreams at dawn(Munjaane Kanasu in Kannada) come true. Thank god, it was not. I just checked myself. Was sweating like anything. Couldn't make out things for say 10 minutes. Was in some other world thinking what was happening around.

Good that the dream didn't continue. Ooof! I don't wanna be another Adnan Ghalib or J.R. Rotem or some other stupid person! (Thinking way too forward. Just to add onto the humor. Hehe!!). Now let the analysis of the dream be later.

I thought that this would be my first and only post on dreams in my blog. Coz, I hardly get any dreams. Though psychiatrists may rule this out saying that every person dreams. As I mention in that post, I sleep to the fullest extent so that dreams would not be in my memory once i wake up. This post breaks that.

I just couldn't sleep for another two hours. I'm no bloggomaniac who just posts things as and when he gets an idea of the post. I was lazy enough not to do that. I thought I'll blog it out this morning and thats what I'm doing right now. Those two hours I was thinking of the dream and the points to add onto this post. What else will you do at that time? I just decided upon the title based on her song, "Gimme more..." (Thats the only song i recollect of her that time. I dunno any other song of hers, other than "Baby, one more time...")

I thought of giving a label 'Celebritney' to this post. But decided with Celebrity as I wouldn't get much of Britney dreams. (Well, hope so...)

I just couldn't come outa that dream for another half an hour. Wondering why I dealt with her that way at the end. Got down by 3:30, washed my face. Was relieved to some extent. Couldn't sleep until 4:30. Woke up by 9 today.

Some of you might curb that we live in the US and didn't have an opportunity to see her. (Many of you wouldn't care for that. I know), Now here are the facts on why i got that dream...

1. Was listening to AT40 by Ryan Seacrest on Indigo. He just interviewed many people among which Britney was one. Her interview was goin on while I stopped as I came to see the movie Mr.Garagasa in tribhuvan along with my family. That thing might have triggered my mind. Half done things trigger the mind??? To support this fact, Seacrest had also interviewed Nelly, which I heard completely. He didn't come in my dreams.

2. As to why the place was the outer cafeteria in our office, That is still under construction and is open to us from Monday. Somewhere in a part of the my mind, this random fact might have helped my mind to yearn this dream.

3. After the dream, I realized why my collegues were not speaking to Britney.

4. Why did the dream stop while I decided to take the pic? Say, If I had taken the pic, that should have been in my camera album right? Probably mind is not ready to accept that this shall not happen. It might feel bad to know that it was a dream and hence, it had stopped the instant the photo was about to be taken.

5. I said I'd been to the movie. After that I had a hefty meal and lots of water before that. I usually do not take water once I start my meal for another hour or so. Yeaterday, I felt very thirsty and had to take water just after finishing my meal. Even after coming home. I drank lots of water and slept immediately. This might be the reason for the sweat.

Well, these are some of the facts I thought of. You may add on more if you have any. Well now I'm laughing at the dream like anything. Hope this is the last post on dreams.
